AE86 New here, thinking of buying an AE86 for a project

I come from the German Luxury crowd over at AF, I currently drive and modify a 2003 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro 5 speed, but I want to get an 86 Toyota Corolla GT-S. I'm not overly familiar with the car itsself (chassis codes, specs for different years, etc), but I have wanted one since I was about 9. Well, that and a MkII MR2 GTS, but that's a little out of budget range for a summer project.

Really, there is nothing better than a lightweight highly tunable RWD car. I like to drift, and there are plenty of backroads up here in Vermont to do it on, trouble is AWD isn't as fun at lower speeds. Enter Hachi Roku...

Really I'm here to learn about it, find out what options and things to look out for, and possibly even buy one. Off to cruise the stickies!

to the nation! The forums are very informative and I think you'll find some good info for your Corolla. Hope you get the Corolla soon.
