It's all about the ride

Hi all... I'm not exactly new to the boards but thought I’d post here for all...

My name is Jeff and my ride is a 2001 Corolla S. I've spent many months and many a penny on my car making it into the car I envisioned from the beginning. I bought this car with the intentions of having a 12 second car that anyone who didn't know would not even think twice about. The car will eventually have forged internals with a turbo pushing upwards of 18psi when all is said and done. I have huge plans for this car.

Current mods include:

17" RH C2 Evo's
205-40-17 Toyo's
TEIN STech Springs
TRD Body Kit.
TRD Short Shifter
Alpine 7893 Head Unit
Alpine 5-1/4" in the doors
Alpine 6-3/4" in rear deck
Alpnie MRV-F450
Alpine SWR-1021D Sub
Shaved Emblems on rear trunk
5% Tint on Rear Windows
25% Tint Up Front
Denso Iridium IK20 Plugs
Sylvania SilverStar Bulbs
Polished Intake Header

I had started on the performance aspect last month by sending Stafford Fabrications 3400 for their supposedly "bolt on" turbo kit for my car. A week late I finally got my kit and proceeded to run into one problem after another with the kit that I finally took the thing off and sold it to the first sucker willing to deal with it. I will be making my own turbo kit now with the help of a couple Matrix peeps and will post up a thread once I start building it. I have to get a welder and the parts together first so I can start building it.

Here are the pics...

My awesome girlfriend helping to tear the car down for the turbo install...

The turbo installed but not working because the piping was all wrong and the MAF mount was welded 90 degrees out...

What up VVT-i guy!

2001rolla I have read your entire Stafford Turbo story on VVT_i
(I have been a member there almost as long as here but I only post there like once a month). I mostly only read the stupid, but very funny, race section and the mods section.

Anyway sorry that didn't work out for you, sounds like you got in on that a little to early in the development phase (which I know was misrepresented to you as a completely finnished product)
Anyway I still support Stafford because they are Turboing 1ZZs, but I hope Mike can get his product straightened out so others don't have to go through what you did.

Nice to see you on TN, keep us updated on the best car ever

PS: I drive a black on black 2001 Corolla S 5-speed
So far I have an OBX Racing strut bar, an E.L. Prototypes Cold Air Intake, and some good 195/60/14 Dunlops on my stock 14x5.5 alloys. I have shaved the "Corolla" from the trunk and that's all I've done to it so far (also I'm running Mobile 1).
The next two things I am contemplating are clear corners( ) and a TRD Quickshifter...

Where are you located? I am an NC4 member here in The Bay Area of California.

Welcome to TN
