Let me introduce myself
My name is Ron Gibb and I have a 1997 Avalon XL with 158K miles on it. After 12 years, I just had my first engine check light come on with two codes P0402 & P1411. After finding a suggestion on this forum, I replaced the 90910-12174 VSV valve and now I have only one P1411 code. Before the change, after clearing the code, the check engine light comes on the second time I start the engine. With the valve replaced, the check engine light come s on a few seconds after clearing the code and restarting the engine. Inputs from this forum indicate that I should replace the EGR valve sensor, P/N 89455 33010. Would it make sense to clean the EGR valve prior to replacing this expensive sensor.
