I have a Carina e 2l gli auto estate. 3sfe. 1993
Having probs with it at the mo & it's gettin me down cause i just can't find the prob.
It starts fine with high revs then then start to drop as they should, but when it gets warmed up it just cuts out as if it is over fueling like whatever should be saying cut the fuel now is not doin that, when i restart it runs ruff hunting & hardly any idle which jumps.
I think i have gone though everything to sauce the prob but no change.
o2 sensor changed cleaned & a 19.5 ohms reading
Thottle body changed & cleaned which had TPS & ICV on it.
Checked the carbon chamber & the valve by coolant temp sender.
Map sensor changed.
checked for air leaks in pipes but none found.
Always have a code 31 vacume etc. Which may i add i am unable to clear off the ecu by removal of EFI fuse or battery disconnection or even removing the ecu fron the car.
It's a sound car a good workhorse but this prob is getting to me now as it will stall when out in traffic at junctions etc but starts up first turn of the key.
Oh yes finally, this prob has been around for a long time, over 2 yrs but manageable but over the past few weeks has got to the stage where i dont want to take it out cause i may not get home.
Well i think that's about it. Has anyone got any ideas before i scrape it.
