New Guy 1985 Camry Turbo Diesel

Just bought an 85 Camry 1.8 td. Auto trans, 54k miles. Run it on french fry oil. Anybody got a service manual that they are willing to sell?

Anybody know how to wire the auto trans so that it stays in 4th gear longer? Seems like it has a 4-speed auto trans, w/an overdrive as well. It shifts fine 1, 2, and 3, but when I push the button on the shifter to engage the overdrive, it shifts into 4th, then very quickly into overdrive. The trans is very rarely in 4th gear for an extended period of time.

Alternatively, anybody got a wrecked 85 Camry with a good manual trans that I can bolt-up to this 1.8td engine?

Also, what is the oil capacity for this crankcase?

Thanks,

kevin

Hello there, Kevin, welcome to Toyota Nation!

I'd recommend taking a look at our Gen 1&2 Camry forum and searching there for that information, and if you don't turn anything up by all means start new threads. The Camry forums are really active here on TN, so there'll be no shortage of information for you.
