Canada Happy but also sad... Hi all

Hi all,

I'm from Montreal QC and I recently sold my lovely Echo(Xa) and bought a 1996 Avalon and now I'm facing some challenges.

I've browsed through the forum but just haven't found everything i'm looking for, like:

How to replace a shift cable myself? (more precisely how to get to attachement through firewall)

Can someone help me, if so much appreciated!

to Toyota Nation!

I searched the Avalon forum myself and was also unable to find any relevant threads about replacing the shift cable. You could try posting up a new thread in that forum and see if you get a reply, but it's kind of an esoteric repair for that model of Toyota so you may want to get a short-term subscription instead to Toyota's Technical Information System, which IIRC runs about $15 (U.S.) for two days. Good luck on your effort!

thanks for your help, at least now i know that i know how to search a forum since you didn't find anything relevant either...

On the other hand i'm kinda stubbornt and don't really like spending money w/o knowing if it'll pay out, so for now i'll take a pass on that TTIS but will certainly post thread on it and see if some TN members feel up to the challenge...
