Hello From NC

Hello All,
My name is Charley. I live south of Raleigh, NC. I have a gold 2006 Corolla CE 5-speed with 89K on it. I bought the car new in March of 06. My insignificant other put most of the miles on. I got it back recently and after a deep and thorough cleaning deeply inside and out, and replacing the evidence of her driving by braille method of driving, I found that there is a pretty decent car there.
I've done all of the scheduled maintenance and repairs. It's been 3800 miles since the last oil change and the oil still looks new. That makes me pretty happy.
Now that I have it back, I'm thinking about doing some light customization. Windows are already 20% tinted. I'm thinking about some carbon fiber 5 spoke wheels. Maybe adding a little to the 0-60 performance, if I can do it w/o killing the mileage. 36 is normal for my routine city/highway mix.

Hey Charlie, and welcome to the forums. Customization is always good, fortunately there are usually a lot more parts out there for later model cars such as yours. You should be able to do some light mods without affecting the fuel mileage too much. Have a browse through the 9th Gen Corolla forum to get some ideas.

Honestly, not many mods will effect your mpg. Its more in how you drive. Other than needing Premium my SC didn't change anything ... my roof rack however, is an mpg killer. With both if I drive with a lead foot I can suck down a full tank in 175 mi. lol.
