Canada Upgrading AW11 to 95 Camry w/ 86,000km's!

Hello All,
Another Canadian Member here, Lethbridge Alberta to be specific. I've owned a Toyota for about a year now, it's a 1985 MR2 AW11. She's a little bit tired with 185,000 km's on her but Rust that makes her look older than her age!

I work at Lethbridge Toyota managing the detail department. Been there since September 08'.

Recently have had the opportunity to purchase a Camry from a customer of ours. It's a white 1995 Camry LE V6, gold badges, blue interior with... 86,000 km's on it! Getting a pretty good price to as I've cleaned the car a few times and he likes what we do! So soon I'll go from a noisy little two seater to the posh riding 1mz-fe powered ride.

This purchase is aimed at my wife and I having a good, comfy, reliable, efficient, and long term vehicle! I will be pouring all my detail skills into restoring and protecting the interior and polishing up the exterior paint to restore that factory shine. Theres a small rust spot on left rear fender from shopping cart damage. Will be doing a T-Belt and Water pump when I get it because of it's age. Aside from that I'd like to remove the badges (are they just adhesive?), shadow shield the tail lights, get remote start/remote keyless entry installed, and do up some new rims and rubber.

Anyway looking forward to the vault of information that Toyota Nation is!

Also the MR2 is for sale for 1200 Canadian if anyones interested...

A vault of information is certainly what we have. Be sure to check out the sticky threads at the top of any forum page since they're great shortcuts to tons of information. Welcome to Toyota Nation, and let me or one of the other moderators know if you have any questions.

Yeah the Mileage is really what sold me on this particular unit. I'll admit I've never really seen myself as a Camry owner, particularly not an Automatic one. But with the mileage that good, and his asking price of $4500 I'm really feeling like I an't go wrong. Similar vehicles are going on our local kijiji for about $7000 and he's a good customer of ours so I... well I pulled his service history based on Vin and Last name and was able to see everything he's done, like the 3 year old new plugs, 4 year old new rear suspension, and frequent oil changes! My own cheap carfax.

TRAILDUST: Thanks for the tips, I've been lurking for a while for a few of my AW11 problems, but it is definitely not my aim to clog up this little corner of cyberspace with repeat questions

MR2 Jedi: It's definitely a big change, but one that I'm pretty excited about. I do love the old style AW11 MR2's, but the one that I found myself needed just a little to much TLC to be feasable. What I find kind of funny is that I'm selling the MR2, but now possess the car that contains the engine that is the prime (at least in europe) swap to put into the MR2! Maybe someday I'll get rear ended, write the car off, and be left with a 1MZ-FE just waiting to power a Midship Runabout!

to the forums!

The Camry sounds nice! Feel free to make a thread for the MR2 in the vehicles for sale forum that we have on this site . Hopefully it will spark some interest.

Enjoy the new ride
