Newb

Hello all,

My name is Russell, I just opened my account here because I got a new Toyota for Free yesterday; and I'm hoping I can find more info here on it.

The "free" Toyota is a 94 pickup SR5 4x4 with the 3.0 V6. And what kind of a V6 would it be if the head gaskets weren't blown...so that's the priority. I also had one of the rear brake lines burst when I was pulling out of the guys driveway

I aslo have a 91 Mr2 Turbo that I've owner for almost 6 years that I've personally built a new engine and done a complete suspension overhaul. I am currently upgrading the turbo and intake manifold; once that's all on I am bringing it to a friends house so he can tune the AEM EMS.

So, all in all, I am more than capable of doing any work the truck needs. I've just found it easier to find someone who has made a D.I.Y. of changing the head gaskets and whatever else I may need to do. If there is a DIY on changing the headgaskets and could post a like I'd appreciate it!

Here's a picture of the mr2 that I took a couple years ago, I have since changed the wheels and now have Supra TT wheels on it.

I don't have any pictures of the truck yet, but as expected it's rusty and the paint's faded

Nice 2 ! How's about a shot of that engine bay?
The guys over in the truck forum are very knowledgeable with these trucks. I own a '95 Tacoma 4x4 myself. It's been a great truck and still is.
Hope to see you in the MR2 forum.
Welcome to ToyotaNation.

Welcome to Toyota Nation!

Nice looking MR2 you've got there . The free truck sounds like an excellent score too! Best of luck with the head gasket replacement

Welcome to ToyotaNation.
No shots of the engine bay right now, it's a little messy and cluttered, this winter I am going to tuck the fuse box and get rid of everything not needed!

But I do have some teasers for now

Crappy cell phone pic of my Berk Technology manifold, next the the Full Race ramhorn

Engine looks really good.Is that you assembling it?

That Ramhorn looks huge! What is the piping diameter?
Do you plan on selling one of them?

Yes, I assembled the entire motor, that was my first solo assembly, but so far I've driven about 2k problem free miles. I'm hoping to get my turbo and both of the manifold installed and get it tuned in the next week or two, then I will really be able to test how well I did... I was building for 350whp, but my tuner says he's used my turbo on a civic with a 1.8L integra gsr swap that was bored .020 over, and that car made 452whp iirc. He said I have a much better more extensive build and the added discplacement should at least put my there; we'll see if the turbo is out of efficiency at those power levels on my motor, I've been thinking about buying a Borg Warner s256; I'll decide once I fell a 3rd and 4th gear pull...

The ramhorn is a Full Race manifold, not sure exactly on the pipe diameter, but it's thick wall tubing and is built like a rock!

I have already sold the Berk manifold to one of the local guys, it was a decent manifold, it was designed around a evo3 16g turbo, so once I mounted my turbo on that I had some clearance issues, the turbo was hitting the trans; and I wasn't about to downgrade my turbo, so I upgraded the manifold
