Hello, Everyone. My name is Tom, and I live in western Kentucky. I am 60 years old.
I currently own a 2009 Yaris Sedan, but I am very much interested in trading it in on a 2010 Corolla S. I have only owned the Yaris for 13 months, and while it has been a fine little car, I am in love with the Corolla S.
As nice as the Yaris is, I do very much like the Corolla S. Should be a great upgrade . We have an extremely active 10th Gen Corolla forum here, so you should be able to find all the help and info you need after your purchase
Enjoy the forums!

Ok, I DID IT! I signed all the papers yesterday, but I have to wait for the dealer to get my car on a dealer trade with a dealership in Ohio, 260 miles away. They might get my car today, but they would not have time to get it cleaned up from the trip before closing time, so I might just wait until tomorrow to take delivery.
I bought a 2010 Corolla S in Classic Silver Metallic. It has an automatic transmission, the JBL stereo, a moon roof, the "QC" package with all the goodies, carpeted floor mats, and the weather guard package.
I AM PUMPED!
Tom
Edit 6/2/10:
I just did a Mapquest check, and that dealership that has my car is actually 331 miles away, not 260 miles away. Bummer. That almost certainly means that I will not get to pick up my car on my birthday (today).
If you have been in the 10th generation forum, you probably know that I did get my Corolla S. I signed all the papers on Tuesday, June 1st, and I picked up my car after it arrived from Springfield, OH, in a dealer trade on June 3rd.
The car is a 2010 Corolla S in Classic Silver Metallic. It has an automatic transmission, moon roof, JBL Stereo, heated power mirrors, power locks, power windows, remote keyless entry, and carpeted floor mats.
The sticker price was $20,705, and invoice was $18,912 with the ad fees included. I paid $400 over invoice ($19,312). They were offering one of their own Corolla S's at invoice, but it did not have the JBL stereo or the moon roof. They said they could not make a sale at invoice price on a dealer trade, and that is understandable.
They allowed me $10,500 trade-in on my 2009 Yaris Sedan.
That's an awesome photo. $400 extra is very reasonable considering how much those items would cost brand new separately from Toyota. I bet the JBL sound system sounds great

Kiwi:
Please don't misunderstand about the deal. I paid $400 over invoice, that is true, but invoice was higher because of the goodies. I actually ended up paying $1400 more in order to get the moon roof and the JBL compared to the price for which I could have bought the car in the dealer's inventory that did not have the moon roof or the JBL. They would have let me have their car at invoice instead of $400 over invoice.
^ Ohh ok, that makes sense. It was 7:40am when I wrote that so my brain is still waking up for the day . Even at that price however, it's still a good deal in my opinion. If I ever bought a brand new car I'd make sure that it was fully optioned too, regardless of the cost

The dealer would have $500 profit selling the car at invoice price. I don't know if that will keep the lights on at a dealershiip. Consumer Reports says to start with what the car actually cost the dealer.CR sells that information for $12. Any member used CR data in purchasing a new car?

Right. There is something called hold back, and I believe it is 3% of sticker price. The dealer can sell at invoice and still keep the hold back. I don't think they could make it on that kind of profit if they sold all of their new cars like that.
I think they make the "big bucks" on the used cars. They allowed me $10,500 on my Yaris, and they will probably sell it for $12,500 or $13,000.
