New on the block

Hi, I am an owner of a 1997 Toyota T100 SR5 4x4 V6 Xcab truck. I also owned a 1995 T100 4x4 V6 Truck but gave it to my Step Daughter. That way I am keeping it in the family. These trucks are work horses. The 97 model has close to 230,000 miles With another engine installed. I live just south of Cleveland, TN. on top of a ridge with a good view. I am not much of a mechanic, but have done a few things in the past. I try to do what I can, when I can. Have a great day.

They really are rugged trucks, aren't they? A buddy of mine who's a mechanic swears by them to at least 400,000 miles as long as you take care of regular maintenance.

Welcome to the nation...enjoy the forums!

I don't have water yet at the top of this hill, so I haul (backup with ruts everywhere)) 200 gal. of water up the hill one to three time a week. We also back up a load of gravel or dirt or lumber to the top. WE literally wore out our engines from both trucks. Both have another used engines installed. And I suspect that we may need to do it again by the time we build our home (slowed down by this economy). Thanks for your welcome mat!!!

That's some pretty heavy duty usage, I can see why you wore the other engines out. Just the water alone would be hauling almost a ton up a hill. At least your trucks are still doing their duty...cool! BTW, if you have any questions about the forums don't hesitate to contact me or one of the moderators.
