Exclamation Newbie '01 SR5

Hi folks,
Just bought my little bro's '01 Tac SR5, less than 60k on the odo.
He kept it in great shape, which is more than I can say for the '05 Mazda 6 my wife and I were in when we got sucked into a tornado!
Anyway, I do a lot of highway driving and am looking for a cruise control. My knee is needing surgery already and keeping my leg in a fixed position for a long time on the throttle is doing a job on my knee.
This truck has a 2.4 and manual trans, of course the throttle is cable, not drive-by-wire.
Is OEM better, if I can find it, or do any of you have a good after-market you could recommend.
My knee and I would really appreciate a quick reply.
Thanks!
Bill

Welcome to Toyota Nation, Bill!

Congrats on the purchase! . Check out the Tacoma forum as there have been quite a few threads in regards to the installation of cruise control.

I've done a quick search for you, so have a browse through some of the threads in this link:

Apparently Toyota sell it as an option, so OEM would probably be best, but there are people using aftermarket units too.

Best of luck, and once again, welcome to TN!

EDIT: This may come in handy to you - It's the installation guide to install the OEM cruise control unit, including the necessary part numbers:
