Sup TN,

Glad to find a forum site representing all the finds and beauty of toyota. I own a 09 Corolla S. I've had her 4 a year now and thought it was time 2 start adding some upgrades and mods. I all already have ideas in my mind:
  • HID Conversion low/high beams, HID Conversion Fog Light
  • Universal Muffler Exhaust
  • Short Ram Intake
  • Performance Chip
My thing is knowing if any of these modifications will void or mess with my warranty....

to the forums!

Your ideas for mods sound good so far. However, I'd suggest considering a cold air intake as opposed to the short ram intake. I have experimented with both on my 7th Gen and the CAI was a far better choice. There is loads of information in the 10th Gen Corolla forum (including debates about the SRI vs CAI), so you're bound to get all sorts of ideas.

Enjoy the site and have fun with the mods

Thanks Kiwi. I've have been told that a something like a K&N cold air intake would do the trick under my hood. I'll definitely look into it, and look for more info through my fellow corolla and 10th gen heads

Keep the factory muffler. You'll appreciate the lower sound level in the long run. Plus it's an N/A factory motor, you won't get much from BWUAAAHHHHHHHHH.

Say you got a different muffler that has a higher flow but with chambers, I say do it, but its really not worth the gain, say on a car that is N/A. You really aren't letting too much go anyway.

If it were a N/A race car? yeah, it may help, but no, you won't need it. If it were a motor larger than an inline four? It will definitely help. But with an I4 ecobox, there's not much sense to do so.

I'm only saying this to save you from spending more on exhausts and all just for the sound. You will realistically just enjoy the quiet in the long run.

So save the money to find a good Cold Air Intake like Kiwi has mentioned.

Ur right. Theres nothing wrong with my factory muffler and quiet is considered better around my way n jersey. I really was looking to upgrade in hp, and the sound (with or w/out the silencer would just b a small addition. Luckily I haven't I bought any of my mods yet, so I'll know where to go from here.
