Welcome to Toyota Nation!

I seriously wouldn't waste my time with putting an intercooler on a non-turbo. You won't see any gains from doing it, and you'll just be adding more weight and adding more resistance to your intake. I'd recommend going with a cold air intake instead, by routing your pod filter outside of the engine bay. It will not only stop you from looking like a tool and getting raced by every turbo in town, but it will also get the job done a lot more efficiently and be a lot less work to install. I made my own out of a couple of alloy pipes and silicone joiners. It took about 1.5 hours to make and it came out looking and performing great.

There was a thread that popped up with the same sort of question at the start of the month. You can view it here:

cold air intake

Don't just take my word for it though. I'm sure most performance shops will tell you the exact same thing

Enjoy the forums!
