Hi people of Toyotanation

I've joined in hopes of learning how I can make my wife's 99 Camry LE run forever. It has 221,000 miles on the original 2.2l and trans. Just recently replaced all struts and springs. OEM spec struts with Eibach lowering springs. Very nice handling compared to it's beat status before. Stock all else otherwise.

A few things that would help me get started if you know these in a pinch.

are the 99's considered 3rd gen?
2.2l i4 is the 5sfe?

what's swap-able with it should i ever give up on life...looking at generally direct swaps.

thanks.

on to searching for answers.

to TN!

The 99' Camry is considered to be a 4th Gen. Yep, the 5S-FE is the 2.2L I4. The Camry forums here are full to the brim with information, so you're bound to learn a lot. I'm sure with the help of the folks in there your goal of making your wife's Camry last forever will be achievable

If you have any questions about the forums, please don't hesitate to let me or one of the other staff members know
