I've been working on my own cars since I was a teenager over 40 years ago. Except for one youthful episode of insanity I've always bought used cars, and pickups and run 'em into the ground. I once had a 1972 Celica that I bought used with 50,000 k, put 50,000 k on it, rebuilt it and ran it for over another 100k before selling it in 1996 and getting a Mazda pickup. My last Mazda by the way.

I recently bought this 1996 Camry with 160,000 miles on it. Rough body, good interior, runs great, new tires off craigslist. It's my first vehicle ever with front wheel drive and fuel injection. I fixed the leaking heater core with alumaseal. But I found a stripped pan plug when I changed the oil. Replaced it with one of those rubber plugs and now I'm changing the oil pan.
