93 MR2 from Indiana - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

I bought a 93 MR2 today, it has a few slight problems but nothing that can't be fixed, I was told its a turbo but honestly I haven't looked yet. I'm really well versed in SBC motors but I've never owned a Toyota or anything with less than 6 cylinders honestly. So far I've been extremely impressed with this car, though and I certainly plan to keep it. I'm going to learn a little more about my specific car first (duh

) Then try to learn a little about how to tune it and whatnot. If anyone has any threads on the subject that'd be great!

Congrats on the purchase of the MR2! I just saw the pics you posted in the MR2 forum and it looks great, especially with that kit on it

. Best of luck sorting out the idling problems. The members in that forum are very knowledgeable, so I hope you're able to find a solution as soon as possible

Thanks alot! I really love the car, it even has a roll cage in it! I think I'll get my idling problems sorted out pretty soon, it has a couple other things wrong here and there but nothing that can't be fixed.

And thanks for the comment on the body kit, I didn't even know that was a body kit I thought it was stock

Oh, wow really? Well in that case I really like my body kit, too lol. I didn't think much of it but thanks for posting that stock pic that makes me like it that much more

Thats not too bad, and it looks pretty nice as well.

I actually have a question for you. You know the engine compartment hood? I need the 2 parts that sit on each side of that..do you know what they're called? Maybe where I could get a set?
