How be it

How's it goin?
I recently came across a '74 corona mark II sitting in a junkyard here in Okinawa. Finding anything older than mid 80's in okinawa, in decent shape is a pretty tough thing to do, but this just happened to pop up. I decided to sell my S14 and buy this beautiful piece of history.
I have some pretty decent knowledge of classic cars, but, mainly american classics, so I've come here to see what kind of info i can find regarding older toys.
That's about all i can think of for now...so...

When i found her in the junkyard

Getting her legal

and tonight

Thanks for the s

Mechanically, for her age, she's doing great. After getting her in the air, it looks like someone was getting ready to JCI her and just stopped. Nearly all the bushings and boots were replaced recently, new plug wires/cap/rotor...

When we first started it, it started right up. The only issue was a somewhat loud tick. By the sound of it, i want to say the valves just need some adjusting. I was in a hurry to get her legal so i put a little thicker oil in her to quiet her down for the inspection. This weekend I'm going to open her up and see what i can do.
She drives like she still has all 60 something horses pushing her . Transmission seems good so far. The right rear shock is on it's last leg and some of the wiring is a little sketchy.

Plans... priority right now is partially restoring the body. The rust spreads pretty fast here, so i'm going to repair everything i can while i'm here, then when i get her back to the states, she'll be torn down again and put on a rotisserie for a full spa treatment.
I'm going to keep the flares and see about finding a matching set of wheels. She'll carry a little of the Bosozuko style around.
Also, once i get get some progress on the body, an 18R-G and 5 speed is going in.

that was a lot of typing... sorry if i overdid it...
