Hi, I am new to this site. Have owned a couple toyota trucks and now have 2 mini vans, but i am looking at a 1980 4x4, flat bed farm truck for $2500. and am wondering what i might be getting myself into. The owner says it runs great and no rust. Any thoughts? Thanks

None, other than to use your better judgment when considering a truck that has advanced rust areas already. You could be in for a lot of welding, especially in the cab. BTW, welcome to Toyota Nation! I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here, and the crowd in the Hilux forums are very helpful.

You should be able to find the information you need here to make an informed decision on the purchase of the truck. The older ones seem to be built tough, so it's bound to treat you well if it has been maintained properly

thanks for the replies. I tried to load a photo of the truck. Got it as far as my profile, anyway. not sure how to get it to the thread. It's a cool looking truck (trying not to allow that to influence me too much).
