Hi Hi
Hello everyone, I am a new owner of a very nice, but old 1989 camry wagon. this car was my mothers bosses, who died (rest in peace) and was given to us by his wife. They bought it in 1989 off a lot in NY, where I live. They owner loved his car, and i can tell, it only had 65, 249 miles on it, all original, the paint is still nice and not faded, it is a LE and fully loaded, minus a sunroof.
I am a amateur mechanic, who has worked on a lot of cars, including my two honda civics, one which was stolen, the other which is a family car, and my Oldsmobile which i am now selling due to its gas goslings 4 barrel nature. I work at a garage once a week for free to gain experience, and my friend needs help since he is the only worker, i love cars and I look forward to working on my new car :-)
I have a few question, real quick
is it possible to swap to rear disks from the awd model? and is it really hard to do or expensive? are their any direct or upgrades for the front brakes? maybe from a celica or 4 runner?
I am unfamiliar with McPherson struts,, since Most cars i had have had double wish bone, or independent suspension, can I slightly lower the car, as i plan to get new struts most likely kyb g2's. Can i match the kyb's with lowering springs, or will the geometry be offset with the front control arms in the McPherson strut system?
Thanks everyone, and I am sorry if I said something wrong in my mechanic lingo.
