First time Toyota Owner - Camry Hybrid

Well I've purchased my first Toyota. A 2008 Camry Hybrid with 23,000 miles. The car is presently being shipped from a Carmax location in Tennessee but I am already looking for things that I can do to upgrade and make it enjoyable for the long haul (I plan on keeping the vehicle for 8 years, when it will become my son's first car.

I was originally gunning for a VW Jetta TDI but there were none available with the options I wanted and at a good price. Needing a car ASAP I went with this Camry after some research about driver experience with hybrids.

SO, I ask you kindly, veteran Camry Hybrid owners, what should I know to make this Camry last us forever??? What can I do to make it a more "fun" ride???

Thanks!

JM

Hello, welcome to Toyota Nation, and also congratulations on the purchase of your hybrid Camry!

With your interest in modding your Camry I'd recommend that you check out the Gen 5 & 6 Camry forum since it's populated by tons of all-gas-powered and hybrid-powered Camry owners, many of whom are heavily into modding. They'll be able to share their modding insights with you, and also the sticky threads in that forum are a good source of information about modding too. Enjoy the forums!

Thanks, I just realized I mispoke when I said its my first Toyota, I've had a 2000 Lexus for 4 years now as well (purchased it at the end of 05). With 180,000 miles on it, it is going to my mother who wanted a vehicle for winter so she could keep her little 2 seater convertible.
