Me and my My Lexus ES300 '94

Hello All

I just signed up with this forum. I bought a used Lexus ES300 several months ago. It was a '94 with 165k on it, but it was in excellent shape, and the owner clearly loved the car. I was glad to have it, as my previous ride (a 2000 mercedes c280) was experiencing constant problems. The only place it was driving me was to the poor house (yuk yuk yuk).

In my 3 months of owning the car, I have put on 5k miles, and the car has performed quite admirably. I don't see this thing stoppping before 250k. I think a high milage vechicle is something to be proud of, as it can quantify it's quality.

In my family, we have never lost a car from old age, its always an environmental issue. This is likely due to my brother's tendancey to crash them. The longest lasting car (that we bought young, not including mine) was a mazda mpv with 140k which my mom sold after she ran over a log (it still worked, but had undercarriage damage).

Anyway, I am not a mechanic by any means, but I do have a degree in computer engineering (its more like electrical engineering than computer science) and I love to tinker. So I hope to have many discussions with you about your repairs and upgrades, and seek you advise on the ones I decide to take on.

to the forums!

The Lexus will no doubt be a lot more reliable than the Mercedes you used to own (a lot cheaper to work on too!) . There's so much to see and do here, so feel free to browse around and make yourself at home. If you have any questions about the site, just let me or one of the other staff members know

Happy posting!
