Hello from New Jersey

Long time lurker, now new member here. I just bought a 1991 Pickup 4x4 SB(tonight). I really wanted the 22re but settled on the 3zve. I had a 1986 same config with the 22re and it was simply unstoppable and easy to work on. I guess it's time for a change. The truck is in OK shape but I will be replacing/upgrading as time/cash/necessity allow. I don't intend to use it for serious off roading but will be taking it into the fields and such for hunting. Of course, it always helps to have a 4x4 for NJ winters also. The previous owner said he just did the TB, water pump, wires and such all himself. I hope he did a good job I took it for a pretty long test drive and it seemed to run just fine. All gears work, shifted fine, nice clutch, 4x4 worked in both modes although a little tough to shift into 4x4. He said he never used it as he only had the truck in the summer. It has A/C but it doesn't work so I'll try to find the root cause of that...here's hoping it's just a fuse! My mechanic buddy told me to replace ALL fluids first thing so I'll do that also. Rust doesn't seem too bad. Driver side rear wheel well will need some patching but the cab and frame are solid. It's got a really crappy paint job but I'll tackle that after the mechanicals are solid. I'm sure I will be picking your collective brain many times so thank you in advance!

I'll say this right now, I love your sig! That's one of my favorite quotes, and as a matter of fact I just watched The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly on DVD just two nights ago. I'm a huge Eastwood fan too, as you can see from my avatar.

Thank you Sir. Yes, I'm a big fan of Clint. The trouble is choosing a quote as there are soooo many.

I'd still say that quote is my favorite.

Congrats on the purchase of the pickup! The Hilux forums here are very populated, so you're in good hands . By all means, feel free to post some pics sometime

Happy motoring, and enjoy the forums!
