I am Frank. I bought a used 96 Camry LE Collectors Edition. I worked in Chrysler dealers for almost 30 years. When I left the auto business I also left my allegience to Chrysler. I was a Chevy man before that. Favorite car still a 69 Chevelle.
Needed to get a car to replace a beater I been killing. A good friend needed help with his daughters Camry while they were away on vacation. It was so much easier to work on then my other cars, I searched for one. I always knew the import technology was ahead of the domestic cars, but, damn this car has stuff! It has 174,000 miles on it. It has/had some typical Camry problems and some typical average mechanic problems, but overall the car is great. With my background and computer skills I have been able to get to the bottom of most of the items needing addressing.
I talked my neighbor, who was a Chrysler Tech, into taking a job at the local Toyota dealer that was expressing interest in his skills. He is so much happier at work now and I have a guy on the inside now.
I know if maintained these cars will out live me. Looking forward to a long relationship with Toyotas. Oh, yeah, after all those years in the car business I know not to buy new. Being mechanically inclined, I can get away with it. Looking foward to owning another soon.

Welcome to the nation, Frank! Sounds like you're going to enjoy our Camry forums, which are pretty much our most active on TN. Lots of worthwhile information to scope out in the sticky threads there too. Let me know if you have any questions about the forums.
