New year, new toy

Hi guys, I just bought my AE82 hatchback and i am planning to use TN to decide what i want to do with it, although at 239xxx miles, I am swinging towards an engine swap as the first order of business.

Time for some backstory:

The car is a 1988 Corolla FX (4A-C), 5-speed. A friend of mine bought it as his first car. The car didn't pass smog testing, and I, being a smog tech student at VVC, was then asked to diagnose and fix the ailling car. After an ignition timing adjustment, idle speed adjustment, a new exhaust, and a new O2 sensor, the "turtle" passed with flying colors.

More maintainence issues arose as the months went by and he began to accumulate a debt with me for maintainence and repairs. He then spotted a Z31 and offered me the car for 100 dollars to close our debt.

So who was I to turn down a perfectly funtioning, smoged, car with current tags for almost nothing?

The interior is a "little" dirty lol


First mod lol just a tach so i dont over-rev and float my valves while getting on a freeway lol

Sounds like you got a real bargain! Looks pretty straight from what I can see in the photos. Should go nicely if you put a 4A-GE in there .
