Hello, fellow Toyota enthusiasts.
My name is Rafael, and I hail from irritatingly humid island of Puerto Rico. This is the third Toyota I've owned (had an '89 AW11 and a '92 Terc). I'm normally a Nissan guy, but on the island Toyota is king.
Long story short, a little less than a year ago everyone at work knew I was without a car. At one point I heard someone was selling their car- an older coworker who bought himself a new small SUV. Now this guy is someone borderline O.C.D. People were interested before test driving the car. Why? Because immaculate doesn't even begin to describe this car. Anyway, I let him know I was interested but that I had to wait for a loan to be approved. "No problem. Still, the car goes to the first person with the money, though." "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"
Fast forward two weeks later after and a ton of cars visited this one still had them all beat. Initially he was asked for 6K, but I told him I have only 5. He said it was fine, the car was as good as mine.
So here it is, a '99 Toyota Camry CE with 99K (was 88K when I bought it) miles and some change.
Those pics are a month or so old. Since then I've tinted it, replaced the dome light with an L.E.D. light (and I love it), cleaned up the headlights (they were yellow), did the regular oil changes, tune-ups, timing belt just recently, and a few other tweaks.
My aim is to keep the car as stock as possible, minus a few aesthetically pleasing changes. I've been looking around to see what wheels from the Toyota family would look better than the current Oreo steelies and plastic hubcaps. That and improve the gas mileage beyond the 25-27mpg I'm currently getting. Any input would be welcome and appreciated.
I look forward to reading and taking in as much as possible from everyone here.
