New guy

Hey just wanted to say hello. I picked up my 2000 Celica GT yesterday and haven't driven it much but it's a very nice car to be in. I'm waiting to drive it much because of some noises coming from the engine i'm not aware of, so i'd rather wait to have it checked out before I drive around and make it worse.

Picked it up for $2800, of course price reflecting some minor body damage to the bumper and even though she said no mechanical problems she didn't know anything about cars so she could be driving on a blown head gasket and wouldn't know. But i'll be taking it to a friend with a toyota shop to see what I am in for. It has 134,000 miles and it's an automatic.

I had a 1992 mr2 before this and it didn't make it through our snow/ice storm. Hope to have this for a very long time and meet some new people.

Thanks!

With some not so good rear tires and black ice on a bridge the back end slipped out and to try and avoid hitting the cars around me it got taken straight into the median on the highway. I had only been driving it since June 2010 because I rebuilt it from a previous owner hitting a deer. A disaster really, between getting a new part of the frame welded on, painting my own parts and getting everything installed again, a big loss but a gain in memories, knowledge, and experience. Something I hope to do with the celica!

From start to finish

And then the end
