I stumbled upon this group looking for some answers to a trouble code for our 2001 Solara SE V6. We're not new to Toyota as this is our second. Our fist was a '81 Toyota diesel 2wd SR5 pickup that I bought new and put over 375,000 on before the frame and body rust made it less than roadworthy. We bought the 2001 Solara used in fall of '02 with 18,000 miles on it. I just completed changing the origional spark plugs out today at 180,000 miles. They still looked good. Regular oil, filter changes and timing belts, water pump and tensioners at 50K and this car has been trouble free. I believe I'll get another 180,000. I am fortunate I have the ability, space and tools to do the work myself and stay our of the dealer's bays.

That's some impressive mileage you got from your old pickup. With the help and information available here at TN, you should be able to keep your Solara running for as long as possible too .
