I've got a 1987 Truck, 22r, IFS, 5 speed, 4wd. My girlfriends dad bought the truck around 1990, drove it for 10 years and the starter went out. It then sat for 7 years and he told me I could have it if I got it off his property. Once I got it, I ran out of time for it and it sat for another 3 years.
After 10 years of not running, we threw a new battery in it, sprayed some starter fluid in it and it fired right up. The alternator was locked up so I replaced that, the starter, changed the oil and flushed the coolant. I have been hard on it in our field (it's not street legal), and have had to winch it out with my Jeep a few times. I cannot believe how well this truck is running, it doesn't miss a beat. Unfortunately, the driveline is where the good news stops.
The body literally falls apart when I drive it, brakes are completely gone (working on that, see thread in Hilux forum), tires are dry rotted, sunroof leaks a lot, and all the other things that go along with a poorly maintained truck.
Here are a couple pictures of it, it looks a lot better in pictures...
And my daily driver, 04 Jeep Wrangler. This is where most my time and money goes. 35s, locked, Ford axles, 4 link, the list goes on...

And no, it's not stuck there.
