New to the Nation

Hi,

My name is Jerry and I reside in Iowa. I purchased my 1989 Toyota 4X4 with it's 3.0 v6 brand new in June of '89 shortly after I got married. Since that time, our marriage has seen over a dozen cars/minivans come and go - but my Toyota still sits in the driveway with over 300k. I've come to join "the Nation" today because I'm tired of being told by so-called "trusting mechanics" that my truck is too old and I need to just go out and bury it instead of getting things replaced or worked on. Personally, I have only performed routine maintenance and am by no means a mechanic, but I'm not ready to bury "Old Reliable" just yet... As a guest to this forum a few months back, I received valuable info when changing my own transmission fluid which hadn't been done in a long time. I wanted to thank the nation - and become a member....................

Don't listen to them, keep it! I'm looking for a Hilux or a stout and I know what these trucks are worth! Keep on with brother.
