Howdy from Dallas
Just kidding about the 'Howdy', as an immigrant to Texas I am not really allowed to indulge in such quaint speech habits. Another one goes like this, "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could." Actually, it was fate (and a job) that brought me and my wife here.
Anyway, I joined the 'Nation today, came across it whilst researching a minor annoyance with my 09 Corolla S. Haven't found an answer yet, but the sporadic rattle isn't greatly bothersome.
We bought the car new in August 08, have been greatly pleased with it since. On my daily commute (26 miles one way) of about 80% highway driving at reasonable speeds I consistently get 38 to 40 MPG. The car is silver exterior with charcoal interior, moonroof and automatic. We would have bought a manual shift car, but none were on the lot (big surprise, right?) and the difference in MPG was miniscule. So far, the car is mostly stock. I added an aftermarket EC mirror with temperature display and compass, a Lexus leather and wood shift knob-identical in size/shape to original, but feels much better. A couple months ago, we bought new tires, Continental ExtremeContact DWS and upgraded to aftermarket 17 inch rims. The original Goodyear Eagle tires worked OK on dry roads, but got a little 'interesting' in the rain. The Continentals are almost as secure feeling on wet roads as they are when dry, no regrets with them.
I'm looking forward to cruising through the forums and perhaps adopting some of the good ideas others have come up with.
