New to TN but not to Toyotas...Just got a 89 Corolla.

Hi all...I'm in the PNW and just picked up a little Corolla and sold my GMC 5.7l V8...11 mpg gas guzzler.

My Corolla is pretty basic:
4A-F
3-speed automatic
4 door DX sedan
134,000 miles
AC

I'm a DIY guy and hope to learn and share tips & tricks. Within in the first few hours of owning this car I removed the following for thorough cleaning and or repair:
Front pass seat (Repaired the reclining mechanism)
Center console(s)...I made about $4 in lost sticky coins
Aftermarket stereo (Just hanging there...Replaced with a CD player I had laying around)
Aftermarket rear speakers (Mismatched Junk...Replaced with new pair)
Amp cables & misc sub wiring removed
Battery (Deep cleaned the terminals)
Wiper reservoir (Cracked...Now glued)
Wiper arms (For repaint)
3 window crank handles due to broken knobs (Repaired the knobs...Reinstalled)
Plus some this and that as needed including new hubcaps & floor mats.

Tomorrow the cracked windshield and exhaust from the cat back will be replaced by the pros.

Things to come:
Track down oil drip
Find a good resource for window/door rubber

This car was "clean & straight" as far as interior and body but just needs some minor TLC as started above. My 15 year old son is excited to learn how to drive in this car vs. the wife's minivan. I plan on using this as my daily driver and should see lots of life considering my commute is 5 miles round trip.

Now I'm off to the Corolla section...Thanx!

Thanx guys.

Fixed some fuse issues...The PO replaced blown fuses with the next size up and twisted the metal prongs together on the 80amp fuse connected to the positive terminal.

Replaced the missing wiper nozzles.
Finished the stereo install...Discovered a blown LF speaker.

Here are some pix.
