A not So newbish new guy lol

Hey everyone Im matt,
Wanna say wassup and all
a brief history about me....
18 and work for roofing
owned 3 cars so far and on my 4th
1st one was a ford escort (RIP)
then the next was a 2000 cadillac deville dhs (sold due to negative attention by the police)
then my 3rd was a mazda 323 turbo
now my 4th is a 1995 camry with a 4 cylinder...

about the camry... 221k still running but an ugly duckling
needs rotors and pads
valve cover gasket
new trunk lid
new thermostat
waterpump
and tires

pretty much to sum it up it needs TLC

before getting this camry ive ran into a lot of posts on here lookin for some the various problems this car has already so i doubt i'll be asking much but theres a few that ive gone dry on and still searching but need a helping hand


i need links to posts about 5 spd swaps matching to any possible v6 swap that can be done to a 3rd gen

i got all the suspension stuff and the projector headlight stuff all written and saved in a file to start on when i get my new headlights in and intrax springs and kyb shocks but the main focus i have here is the swap..... really dying to find this so if anyone has a walkthrough on both you will be my hero

but ye i think that sums everything up
would like to give a shout out to the staff and say thanks for having this site up and doing a great job with it. keep on doin what you do. i'll be on this forum for a while considering when my fiance gets this camry i'll be starting on a dumped mr2 or corolla. dunno yet but we'll see

haha funny how you mentioned that... ive seen quite a few on here that i would respectively follow as a template for my 3rd gen. theres one guy by the name of bluebird on cardomain with a v6 coupe that ive kept a close eye on and a few trd supercharged ones on youtube and the infamous turbo one too who i think might be strolling through here. but anyways those owners have convinced me to steer away from honda 1 last time and start with toyota which im pretty impressed with all the DIY stuff theyve done to their cars considering there isnt much to offer for the camry on the market other than body kits and such. i saw some nice front lips and everything

my goal is to blend trends with others
im obsessed with jdm style appeal but was flamed on one site for being "a new age ricer" lol but idc to each their own...

heres a heads up on whats to come in the future for the car

-sticker bomb the hood, roof, and trunk lid
- aussie style front lip (dont know the proper name a few members on here have them)
- DEPO headlights (jdm black housing) with ES300 projector retro fit runnin on 6000k HIDs
- red/clear tails
- 1st gen IS300 wheels (powder coated black and color matched inserts and rim to exterior color)
- custom 3 inch cat back
- intrax springs with kyb struts (might go with tokico blues considering ive heard the ride was a bit better than intrax but the drop isnt as noticable)


some major projects id be doing or possibly doing
full built v6 (still have yet to decide what engine to drop in)
5 spd swap

orrrr
rebuild the 4 cylinder and turbo it and do the 5spd swap

the list is somewhat endless but it gives ya a good idea of what to look out for on some possible detailed walkthroughs and future stickys when i get started on them if they're detailed enough to get sticky.


as for everyone else. i appreciate the warm welcome and much love to everyone here. im sure i'll be postin updates through here if thats alright and not against the rules....
