My 2005 Corolla P0303 code
Have an '05 Corolla with 168,000 miles ( !! ) on it. Got a P0303 code, cylinder 3 misfire, then it started to shake and lose power. Opened up the engine cover and discovered the #3 cylinder coil/spark plug tube half melted and the spark plug blown to pieces. I sucked out the debris in the cylinder, put in a Heli-coil spark plug thread replacement, and installed a new spark plug and coil. It still shakes and has the same code. Is it a valve, or something worse ? My son's auto shop instructor said he knows all about this problem, and it is common on Toyotas, for some reason, it is always the #3 cylinder. Help !!!
