OK,
I'll admit it. I'm a newbie. I'm 34, kinda in a midlife crisis (bored to tears) and I've decided I want to start my first project car. Now I don't know much about cars but I have a technical background so I can learn just about anything and I'm not afraid to admit when I don't know something.
Right off the bat I'm pretty sure I'm getting into a world of confusion but hey life's that way normally for me so nothing new huh? Presently I own a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally and it's a nice car and I've read up on them enough they take real well to after market Mods, but being as it's relatively new parts are expensive, the car is complex for a newbie and I really don't wanna screw up my daily ride just because I wanna play.
I've been slowly starting to read up on street racing and the different cars and styles that people take and have taken a liking to Toyota's which I've always liked anyway. One of my first favorites was the 82-83 Celica GT liftback. I love it's lines and it looks like she handles real sweet. From there it kinda naturally follows that the Corolla GT-S (Trueno AE-86) and the Supra's catch my eye as well.
Right now I'm trying to research these types of cars and find out the specs on them so I can figure out what I need to look at as far as getting one and tricking it out, but I'm having a hard time in finding detailed specifics. But then again I really don't know where to start. I just want to build me a racer that fits my style, I love high speed cornering, drifting, and anything dealing with controlling a car right out there on the edge. And Now I want to learn how to do it myself.
So if anyone wouldn't mindslipping a few beginning pointers or possible directions to a newbie who's into "taky" cliche's drop me a line.
Thanks
