Yep, finally getting into it. This dude i know is some sort of Division Champ, he's gonna take me around a few times before I run, hopefully show me what its all about.
Thats the event, My car definatly feels out of place, entire event is small sporty cars...im like the only person whos registered as having a 5-door family type sedan, closest thing to me is a protege5.
oh well, its gonna be fun.

You feel wierd. Try being a small suv in a sea of Subarus at my first RallyCross. But you really don't need to worry. Most guys are glad you came no matter what your vehicle and even encourage you just to have fun instead of worrying so much. I had so much fun at my first rallycross, I brough four other Rav4 drivers to my last one on SUnday. It was fun watching 'em sweat for a change instead of me.
na, im not worried about it...im really excited, its kinda thrilling going up against some miatas and wrx's and mini cooper S. Im registered in Novice H-Stock, so its not like im going to embarass myself or anything, and even if i place last and take out 20 cones, its still gonna be awesome.

There are no truer words!
What are you running Tommy? H-Stock is an ungodly competitive class. Mini's Dominate that class like nothing else. But the class has a awesome pax!
No fear running an odd car. I ran my Camry for the first two years I ran. I did only a few mods, but kept up with the well preped WRX's in my class.
Since your running on Street tires, air those babies up! MAx pressure! I'd start with 45psi and even 50psi. Don't worry about the high pressures being unsafe, just don't go out on the highway afterwards
And remember the good old saying, slow in fast out.
I'm just jealous that your part of the country is still running races this time of year. Our seasons here has been over for a month

Probably the only good reason to live in the south... those few months between the snow falling and the lakes freezing when we can't do shit up here. But seriously, don't worry about your car not fitting in, it just makes it all that much sweeter when you beat people. If you have economical tires on there, then run the pressures like Mikey said, but if they're a sportier model, possibly with a shorter sidewall, go a little lower. Start around 40 or so and use the shoe polish/chalk trick. I'm sure your buddy that's helping you out will have more than ample advice to get you started in the right direction.

Yea, im gonna be in H-Stock, driving my 2004 Elantra GT the guy whos gonna show me the ropes runs a 01 Neon ACR, and he's in G-Stock. But since this is my first race, i can stay in H-Stock novice.
He's already explaind the whole airing up the tires like mad thing before i run. Im not worried about where i place, i really just want to run and see what i can do, not to mention see some of these other guys who are really good.

Awesome. Yeah, you know I don't think anyone places well their first time out... unless they run in a class with no other people
That's cool that you got out. More autocrossers = more lovin. Or something. I don't know what that means, really.
Anyway, I too am jealous that you get to autox in the winter. I can only hope for like a navigational rally or something, cause up here it's absolutely eventless til april or may.
well, this last event was the last offical event till next season, but this one coming up is like a free run for everyone. From what i hear, its a good day for new guys to learn, since no one is worrying about points and what not. Ill probably run this one, but then im gonna sit out till i can get a dedicated set of tires. all season michelins make lots of noise!

There's a guy in Madison who autocrosses a Dodge Diplomat... the things a beast, always swinging the rear end out. He's very fun to watch. And about results, don't worry about it, even though you're not. My first time out I placed second to last in GS, when last place was a girl, another first timer. I also placed second to last in STS in Milwaukee last year, out of a class of like, 45. That was bad.
