I know of three or four plus myself who actually get out there and drive it; I'm curious what the real numbers are though. Also, I'm sort of curious how other toyotas end up doing on the track... I've only seen a couple mk1 mr2s and one corolla out there locally.
So... callin' all y'alls out. Who are you, what do you drive, with whom (scca, etc), and how do you think you perform in your car?
'92 Camry with an Auto 3vz-fe. Last year I ran in GS and STS. I didn't start until the end of the season. I ended up adding a strut tower brace that bumper me to STS. Considering I was on tires with a 740 Tread wear, I managed to beat a Porsche and a WRX during the season. Along with some other quick cars. I wasn't able to do the best possible because of the lack of grip. The races were run by SCCLAC (Sports Car Club of La Crosse) and MWOG.
But this season I will have no problem keeping up with most of the drivers in my area. I was a little behind them last year (my driving made up for the lack of mods). With my full suspension done and upgrading to 17x7's, my Yokohama AVS Sport should keep me locked to the ground
I'll for sure post times as soon as I get them from this season. I am just ordering my new rims and tires this week. My Suspension should all be ordered in the next month.
I do! All over southern WI, western WI, and I'll be doing a bit around the Twin Cities this summer... maybe even down to Iowa this weekend.
I think I do pretty well... the only time I've actually placed last in my class was when I was accidentally classed wrong. In fact, I co-drove an unnamed Camry owner's Gen3 and placed 6 spots ahead of him, beating out a pair of SRT-4's. He doesn't like to talk about that though...
Whoops, what do I drive? 93 Camry V6, AT. In her prime she had Tokicos, Whiteline springs, TRD air filter, brake pads and RSB. But the RSB and springs are gone now. Trying like hell to get rid of the entire car, but shit keeps coming up and forces me to keep it a little longer.

i run a 1991 golf up here in maine, my friend is an scca pro rally driver and he has a course at his house, he hosts events quite often, those are all i do though, its an ice course. if i say so myself, i do pretty decent overall, coming inthe top 5 of a class of 20 cars or more
Well, instead of auto x, I just signed up for the local SCCA rally cross event instead just because I think dirt would be more fun. It'll be my first time, too, so hopefully I don't do anyting stupid to embarass myself. Gonna use my 2003 Rav4.

I hope yours is 4WD. Otherwise you might have a problem on stock tires
I'm starting Rally-Cross this year also. But I am running on Hakka RSI's. SO I won't have a traction problem. But amazingly Auto-Cross is crazy fun. You have no idea until you try it. Even though it's just 40mph or less, it's a crazy rush.

Oh yeah, definitely have awd. It's the one thing I really wanted on the Rav since I did plan on doing some softroading in it like at Oceano Dunes or Hollister Hills OHV parks. Now I have the itch to try it with rally x just because I like to corner with the Rav and run in dirt. I'll probably give auto x a try later since there are more events close to me with auto x but the local San Francisco SCCA chapter only allows members to join local events and not drop ins. Since I'm not sure yet whether I want to do this regularly, I'm gonna give rally x, no members only restriction here, a try first and see if I want to join up with SCCA later.
