File's about 8M. WMV cause this stupid divx converter is kicking my ass.
I shouldn't go through the bandwidth limit so quickly as last time I posted a video since I'm on a new host... but let me know if it suddenly stops working, cause I'm not gonna sit here clicking to test it, heh
(P.S. See if you can spot the three continuity errors!)
Nah it wasn't nationals. Just a regular ol' regional autox. And also I wasn't the cameraman or editor on this particular one -- supposed to be edgy or xtreme or something I guess. Like a promotional piece.
However, I'd like to point out my mad skills driving over the bases of those pylons.
Nice, that looks like a lot of fun, and reminds me of the one time I was up at Shannonville, super-rainy and standing water like a foot deep in parts. Good times.
And I hate to say it, but that course looks super-easy. I don't think I've ever been on a course that wide open before. Probably fun to get it up into the top of second and into third once in awhile

Nationals style course. Higher speeds, misleading cones, tons of wrong lines you could take. I was co-driving the white Miata that spun (none of that video was me), I never hit third. Trust me, there were tons of spots you could lose time.
But yes, it was made a little wider taking the rain into consideration. However still extremely tricky. I took first place in CSP

Yeah, see all the courses I'm ever on you never get to just go. It's an almost constant state of steering. Maybe 30 feet max of straightaway between corners. That's why I said it looked really easy
On the other hand, it looked really quick too -- which can suck because it bunches up the times and makes the difference between 1st and second, second and third a matter of thousandths.
I liked it.
I agree that it's a little choppy, but it's not really a first person type of video.
Its an entertainment video, and at that it does well =)

nice video brink. i really like how close you were to the cones there...i always get excited when i get super close and hear that magic 'whoosh' noise while going by & wondering for a split second whether i actually knocked the cone down or just ran over the edge of it
our courses here are more like the one in the video, except on a parking lot and very rarely can you hit the top of 3rd, only on a bigger 100 sec course, but a lot of of courses are 30 sec. the courses on mike's vids are so big and wide open, something we don't have here at all.

Keep in mind it was raining, and we knew it was coming two weeks in advance. They planned for the rain

Not saying that big open corses aren't fun also.. they just sometimes favor the High HP cars ( I know I know.. not always, but you will and can run into that).
Now I only have been to Nationals once.. but it was never setup anything like that.
This is an ALMOST perfect example of 1 (of the 2 different) courses that are run at Nationals.. <scratch that.. I done one better>
Here are 2 perfect examples of a Real Deal National (tour) course.. Why? Because Roger "the real" Johnson designed them..
We actually run a race today designed by Pat Washburn and Steve G. The whole course was built from elements from nationals. So everyone who ran there had an advantage of knowing how to take certain spots. Too bad I spun my first run and DNFed the next two. After my last three runs were babied, I put down a 4th place run in CSP. It was slick out there today. Hopefully tomorrow is better.
As for that open course favoring hp, only on the few straights. The course looks straighter than it really is because of the video angle. The F-Mod cars weren't running much faster than everyone else, even on Hoosier Wet slicks.
