I don't know whether Toyota offered more than one model of carburetor, though I doubt it. I think the US manufacturers are more likely to change parts models during a model year. When I overhauled my daughter's '87 carb I used my '85 Toyota shop manual and saw no differences. One possibility you might want to check into is that a previous owner might have put on an aftermarket carb, though.
