What is this SOLyou are talking about?

The only one I know is in Virginia and it stands for Standards Of
Learning. It was put in place by former Governor George Allen and
applies to public schools. Basically the students have to take
standardized tests and pass them to advance to the next grade. Many of
the teachers and administrators hate the SOLs because they feel like
they have to teach to the material in them. This prevents them from
spending time on the more creative type courses.

We have a similar system in Florida called FCAT.

It really is a terrible thing to teach fundamentals to kids....

If you can't read you can't graduate.

That should lesson the Democratic rolls in the future....
