We in Mass want to thank you folks for helping us with the largest
public wors project in the USA.The tunnel leaks, and will continue to
leak, probably forever, The Boston Herald photographs sleeping workers
($49.00 per hour). Equiptment drivers driving aimlessly around Boston
for no apparent reason, Same labor rate. Modern Construction Co, The
unsupervised contractor, says it is a management problem and they will
investigate. Your tax dollars at work.

I had a chance to use the 'holy' tunnel last Christmas on a trip to
Logan to pick up my Air Force son....returning from Germany.
I have to admit I was a bit nervous driving in that thing....but it
did make getting to Logan a hell of a lot easier than the 'good old
days'.

Well, I'm sorry the thing's leaking and over budget but I used it to get to
Logan Airport this summer and I could not believe how easy it now is to get
to the airport. Awesomely quick and easy.
The very last time I'd been in to Logan by car was some years ago and I'd
sometimes found that the trip, even at off-peak times, could be upwards of
an hour from I-90/Rte 128 (is that even 15 miles on "expressways?"). We'd
taken to going in on the Blue Line to avoid driving (we don't live in that
area but we do sometimes use the airport). It once took us well over an
hour to get to Logan from a hotel in downtown Boston.

Not to mention about $10B over budget and years behind schedule.
But I thought contacting work out to private industry made things efficient?
Isn't that what right wingers claim?

Scott, "good" and "Logan" are not to be used in the same sentence. It's a
law.

What is the big deal about it? I flew in and out of there a few times when
I was stationed at Ft. Devens and I don't recall anything unusual about the
it.

The local paper had an editorial article about this.
It turns out it was my Mom's BOSS from 30 years ago that found out about
all this going on!

In '84 and '85 it was still an Army post. I was in morse code school there.
I have good memories of the place.
