OT: Bush flops on Today show

Yesterday morning. Bush was doing JUST FINE until Matt Lauer asked him
about the Bird Flu.

Now, Health experts around the world, and Dr. David Nabarrow of the UN
have all said the Bird Flu will be devastating to mankind if it mutates
into a form that can be transmitted by humans to humans. Matt asked Bush
about his plans to stave off the Bird Flu (what the Government is doing
about it).

Bush lost it. Didn't have an answer. Stammered like a schoolboy asking a
Cheerleader for a date.

After dropping the ball on the latest disasters in this country, you'd
think that 1. he would have been breifed on the Bird Flu, and 2. he would
have a 'plan of action' pinned right to the top of his head.

I began losing what little faith I had in our Commander in Chief right
after Jatrina, and it keeps getting whittled away more and more day by day.

Of course, I would also ask, what is the UN doing about this possible
Pandemic? They have certainly dropped plenty of balls themselves (perhaps
even licked a few...REF Oil for Food, where Hussein walked away with $24B!!!)
Now is the time for them to redeem thamselves. Hear me Annon??? You have
the resourcews of the WORLD available to you, GET ON IT!

When is the bird flew gonna hit us???

What are the symptoms?

Should I prepare my catastrophy kit and clean out the bomb shelter?

Most importantly, should I start to panic now or wait a few weeks.

Stay tuned to C (clinton) N (news) N (network) for the latest panic the
public news.

I listen to the BBC...you know, the Blair Bashing Channel?

BBC reports today that the Bird Flu has been found in Turkey (the country,
not the poultry) and Romania (or was it Ukraine?)

At any rate, it HAS left Asia and is moving.

If you understand the nature of a virus, and I'm sure you do, then you
know it can mutate and change. So far, it has only been found in humans
who work in the poultry industry. But the fact that is HAS infected humans
means that it can be communicated. As it infects more humans, the chances
of it becoming a virus that can be passed to humans intensifies.

All it takes is mutating in ONE human being. And that human being may not
even exhibit signs of being infected. Remember Typhoid Mary? Carried
Typhus for YEARS before exhibiting any signs of it, but infected hundreds
who died.

Dr. Nabarro says the level of activity NOW determines whether deaths will
be 5 million worldwide, or 150 million.

Don't we have a national organization which monitors such things? Why
do you expect the president to be all knowledgeable to the finest detail
on all subjects. Some politicians would feed the newsmedia a bunch of
wordy bullshit that means nothing, Bush chose to not do that.

For you, wait for the RED homeland security lights then apply duct tape to
the inside of all window seams, put on the John Ashcroft albums and wait for
the 'all clear' siren or YELLOW homeland security lights. Clear?

I thought the President looked a bit worried. Maybe he's staffed the NIH
and CDC with the same fine quality of leaders that he installed at FEMA.

For your reading enjoyment:

http://www.glennbeck.com/birdflu/index.shtml

Now, in answer to your statement, yes *I* DO expec the President to have
an answer on the question! A simple "The brightest minds in the medical
field are aware of the problem and we will have more information available
as it comes due" would have sufficed! Did you SEE the clip??? The
President looked Flabberghasted! Like he had NO CLUE what Lauer was
talking about.

Now, behind the scenes, the people who are REALLY running the country may
know what's up, but their Frontman didn't have a CLUE!

Will this be another Katrina all over again? Closing the door after the
cows are gone?

Look. I didn't really like Bush right from the get go. I thought McCain
was actually a better candidate. I was disappointed when the RNC gave Bush
the nod. But all along, I have given him the benefit of the doubt. But now
my OWN doubts are overrunning, and I really don't think he's the leader he
should be. As a matter of fact, I think somebody's pulling the strings and
making the puppet talk. I don't see a lot of clear LEADERSHIP going on
here! And this is just another fumble.

One thing about Kerry is that he is good at words and can BS his way out
of any question. Remember the old saying, baffle them with bullshit.
Media loves it, LOL.

BTW, ask any old grizzled government bureaucrat about wordy reports and
boilerplates, LOL.

Re: OT: Bush flops on Today show

I recommend you and all other crazy right wingers go to Walmart and buy all
the duct tape and plastic sheeting you can find. Get into the smallest room
in your house and duct tape the plastic sheeting to all the walls, windows,
and doors so no contaminated air can get into the room. I will let you know
when it is safe to come out.
