OT: WOW! Somebody's actually DOING something!
Lenox Selectmen Approve Installation of Wind Turbine
LENOX, MASSACHUSETTS (AP) - The Lenox selectmen voted 3-to-2 to install a
wind turbine. A temporary wind monitoring tower will be erected to begin
measurements to determine whether the targeted area of Yokun Ridge will be
a viable source of wind power. A public forum held 2 weeks ago at town
hall has spurred several heated debates and public criticism over the wind
turbine proposal. Selectman Robert Akroyd, who voted against the so-called
met tower, wants a second public forum in order to further debate on the
issue.
Notice the last sentance. Lenox is FULL of 'Beautiful People' in the
summer. Hopefully they can sneak this past before the town's 'owners' from
New York return in the late spring.
And hopefully there won't be the NIMBY attitude like in a much, much
smaller town 30 miles east of Lenox...
