97 Corolla PCV Valve Removal?

I am a novice at car repair and would like some advice. I have found the
PCV valve and would like to replace it. I took off the hose and tried to
pull it out, but it seems stuck.. I tried unscrewing it but no luck. Is
there a trick to this or do I just have to pull harder?
Thanks,
B

Yes, pull harder. Try some Vise-Grips[tm].

Re: 97 Corolla PCV Valve Removal?

Once you get it out, let me know how you get the new one seated again.
I replaced (tried to) on my 97 Corolla, and popping the old one out was
ok, but I can't get the new one seated into the valve cover. Even with
some firm taps with a mallet the valve will not seat... so it's in
place, but only because the rubber hose prevents it from popping out...
