It was a news item on CBS news tonight. I had not heard it before and
Rummy says it ain't so. I do expect Rumsfeld to leave sometime after
the first of the new year. He's getting up in age and I'm sure he'd
like to get back to his ranch and relax. I doubt Lieberman would take
the job, after all he is a democrat and a Senator. How about Kerry,
LOL....Just kidding.

Lieberman would be a good choice. It would tear the Demorats apart
almost as much as Karl Rover's choice of Dean as head of the Rat
party...LOL

I think that would suck. I like Rumsfeld's attitude very much,
especially when he has press reports. That man doesn't speak like a
politician -- he speaks like a person who believes what he's saying.

Just like the guy who I see occasionally in DC who believes he's Jesus
Christ. He _really_ believes it.

He says it is not true.
-------------------------

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, the
craftsman of U.S. Iraq war strategy and a magnet for criticism, said on
Thursday he had no plans to retire from the post more than 2-1/2 years
into the conflict.

[snippet]
A combative former collegiate wrestler and Navy fighter pilot, Rumsfeld
has established himself as the most powerful Pentagon chief since
Vietnam War era defense secretary Robert McNamara. He was the youngest
man to hold the job when President Gerald Ford appointed him in 1975
and now, in his second stint in the post, is the oldest.

Rumsfeld said in February that he twice offered his resignation to Bush
last year over the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal, but both times
was asked to stay in the job.

By the way Richard, quit posting your topics IN CAPS. It's very rude.

Now you've gone and pissed him off. He'll probably start writing
everything in caps now. You know how a child reacts to someone when
they are told to stop it...

Yes, you usually get the last word with everybody. Perhaps because you
have nothing better to do?
