OT: Religious fundies slapped-down HARD

When will the fundies stop trying to impose their religious views onto
others? Funny how the judge pointed out that they are liars and
idiots, trying to get their agenda into the schools...

On a related note, a recent survey showed that only 26% of Americans
believe that "Humans and other living things have evolved over time
through natural selection." 18% thought evolution occurred, "guided
by a supreme being", and 42% think that Humans and other living beings
have always existed in their present form - no evolution.

Man, we live in a country full of rocket scientists, don't we? 42%
don't even believe that living things evolve? Is it any wonder how
Bush got re-elected?

That's still in question by thinkers. I'm not surprised he believes in but
can't pronounce ID. I am surprised this turned out to be true:

http://www.wired.com/news/politics/0,1283,69886,00.html

With deeds like this under his belt, he can't be trusted at all. Now, we'll
see just how much Congress values law and the constitution.

Re: Religious fundies slapped-down HARD

The most interesting thing about evolution is the recent thoughts that it
happens in surges by accident. I am just making this example up but the
thought now is that something dramatic happens to the environment causing
tons of mutations during embryo development. Some of those screwed of
babies survive and prosper and suddenly you have a new species.

A lawyer pointing out anyone is a liar and talking intelligently about
anything scientific is a joke, not to mention a hypocrisy. People of
religious and non-religious backgrounds have been force fed the theory
of evolution of decades, but with all the holes, who can be convinced?
Funny thing is when godless scientists and instructors teach it as fact
and anything they don't believe as "so-called."

Punctuated equilibrium, or the Walla Theory as I call it, should be a
religion for the liberals as it requires more faith than believing in
God without believing in Him. Yeh, it just changed from a fish to a
lizard. Prove it, and while you are at it, tell us all where the matter
and energy came from to make life possible in the first place.

What about the muslims? They have more wacky beliefs than Christians, they
blow people up to impose their beliefs onto everybody, yet, for some reason,
their religion is cool with the liberals. This is what I don't get.

And as far as religious 'nuts' imposing ID beliefs. The Catholic Church,
Vatican, believes in evolution. Evolution is also Intelligent Design. I
teach a course at the Univerisity of Chicago on Intelligent Design (part
time). Both can co-exist.

I am also tired of people comparing the uneducated masses to the election of
Bush. Anyone working in any financial institution will take a republican
over a democrat any day. Study the markets and how they respond to democrats
and you will see what I am talking about. Of course, some of the uneducated
liberals will bring up the whole internet bubble that propelled the markets
to artificial highs.

There's obviously a LOT you don't get. Muslims don't believe in
violence as a whole. In fact the pecentage of fanatics in the muslim
world is far smaller then the percentage of christian fanatics.

At minimum, you're more proof that all racists are ignorant.

And what you don't get is on relative basis, there is more violence coming
from Islamists than from Christians - in the name of religion. And since
when is a religion a race? You cutting on Christians is ok? But me cutting
on Muslims is racist?

"Intelligent Design" and "Evolution" coexist in sequence. Once created,
there is evidence that nearly every species evolves in order to survive in a
changing environment.

Do we have evidence of an established species evolving into new species?

There is so much more that YOU "don't get." Muslim violence against
Christians throughout southeast Asia and Africa is well known. The absence
of an official denouncement by the Muslim community is a passive endorsement
of their fringe members' activities.

And since being a Muslim has nothing to do with one's race, ... it is YOU
who are trying desperately to inject race (the typical worn out Leftist
attempt) in order to squelch discussion.

Dan, Dan, Dan... I think there's hope for you son. You seem pretty
smart for a conservative.

One question -- do you understand the difference between "Fiscal
Conservatism" and "Social Conservatism"? The difference allows social
Liberals such as myself to make a killing in the market without
pissing on the unwashed masses who haven't been blessed with the
bounties that God gave me.
