When it rains on my Celica

When it rains, and the water enters the air vent area, under the
windshield wipers,

1. Where does the water go?
2. There are drainage holes---how BIG are they?

There are channels that route the water down in the front fenders
between the wheels and the front of the doors. They vary widely
between various models of cars, but the outlet hole at the bottom of
the fender is usually the sticking spot - usually about one inch
diameter or larger. Run a garden hose in the cowl, and see where they
come out on your car.

And if you park outside and lots of leaves get in there, some cars
will get a buildup of leaves and debris in that channel that can clog
it, and the decomposing leaves can smell pretty bad. You will have to
go clean them out with a shop vacuum when dry.

Cleanout access varies - Some cars have access holes on the firewall
for cleanout (that are also for access to the wiper arm pivots and
hardware in that channel) others you have to pull off the wiper arms
and take the cowl vent panel off from the outside. Someone familiar
with your exact year and model car could tell you, I can't.
