The Neocon scum currently in control of our government want to again
cut taxes, despite the fact that we are already borrowing money at a
suicidal rate. I guess these evil assholes need more money to fuel-up
their SUV's, and are willing to steal yet more money from future
generations in order to pay for it.
Every once in a while, some of our resident right-wingers will spout
nonsense about income-tax cuts actually *increasing* government tax
receipts, due to their stimulus of the economy. Idiots "Mike Hunt"
and the Troll in Florida are two who have claimed this. No one should
be fooled by their lies.
A recently-released study by the Congressional Budget Office has
proven these theories to be false. The CBO modeled this question
using a 10% tax cut and nine different assumptions about individual
behavior and government borrowing, and found that in no case did the
increased economic activity tax cut replace the lost revenue due to
the tax cut.

Oh, but it does help the economy to cut taxes.
It helps the economy of the top 5%. It allows them to create bigger
trust funds for their kids, to drive more powerful / less fuel
efficient cars, to buy bigger and uglier houses....
Meanwhile, you and I may be earning 3% a week... but the rest of these
folks just don't have a chance.
However, there is a great contradiction on this, as many other subjects
he says.
In the book Great USA, GWB praises and support the tax system, also
known as IRS. This system is noted for being obsolete, unfair, racist
and makes strong divisions between the different classes of society.
Here's an example of his support:
"The system of IRS is ordained by the Rulers and so there can be no
injustice in it; it is not an artifice invented by man."
Page 346 Chapter MIX Great USA by GWB
The tax system is composed by the four big groups of the society.
The politicians (Bushists) the warriors (Arminians) the traders and
farmers (Agricolus) and the workers (Unionists). There are lower
groups, like the untouchables (Harlemits) among others. Some of the
rules are the following:
- No marriages between the people of different taxes. Bushists marry
only Bushists, Arminians marry only Arminians and so.
- If someone is born worker (Unionists), he cannot try to be a Bushist
or Arminian or any other group. He has to wait for his next life to see
if he gets something different. This rule also applies to the Bushists,
Arminians and Unionists and the Untouchables.
- Mostly the Bushists, should avoid physical contact with the other
less pure taxes, specially the Harlemists and the Untouchables.
It is necessary for the society to practice this form of organization

You want to pay more taxes?

There are a number of problems in accepting any concrete conclusions
given in a report on macroeconomics, starting with the fact that unlike
microeconomics there are no hard and fast rules. It is easy to find two
economists to hold opposite opinions on the same issue.
Recent history for Kennedy's and Reagan's administration show a
reduction in taxes to stimulate growth and a large increase in tax
receipts. Problem with leftist, Godless economists, is that they
believe the government is the only way for people to be helped. Not
having run any business, they apparentely haven't figured out that a
reduction in profits directly relates to a loss in impetus for further
investment (especially in the US, when locating overseas provides
increased profits). Poor people don't create jobs, people with
resources do.
The interesting thing is, that the only time I hear a leftist cry about
paying down the deficit is when tax cuts are looming, not when their
favorite welfare programs are affected. Perhaps you would like to go to
one of the socialist countries in Europe, so you can get a dose of
higher taxes and higher unemployment rates.
why don't you send in about 75% of what you make. that should make you
feel better. as for me the less taxes i pay the better. oh you could go
out and start a business and employ lots of people and they could send
in 75% also. hey why don't you do that?

Weren't you the one going on earlier in a thread about different
classes? Not a very robust beginning to this discourse

And in the "he said nothing meaningful" department we have... (oh see
above)

who benefitted? Granted, I wasn't a professional until Clinton... but
I made (adjusting for inflation) a HELL of a lot more under Clinton
than I do now.

what does God have to do with the economy? That should keep you busy
for a while.

I'm leftist, not Godless, but I heartily disagree with you as do most
of my colleagues.

Right... if its that simple why is it so easy to find two economists
who don't agree?

Poor people in third world countries (and in West Virginia) are taken
advantage of by huge behemoth greedy corporate CEOs and CFOs.

Add up all of my "favorite welfare programs" and you'll have about 0.1%
of what Bush is spending in Iraq monthly.

Its not the cuts that bother me, its where the cuts are being made.
You understand, captain?

Really? Even if you are stealing money from others to reduce your
taxes? Sorry, but "borrowing" money with NO intention of ever paying
it back amounts to theft.

I think we should pay our damn bills, and stop stealing from future
generations to support our lifestyle. We've got no business giving
ourselves a tax cut, when we are already borrowing like mad just to
keep things going.

Absolute rubbish.

>Problem with leftist, Godless economists,
False premise.

Wrong again, obviously.

>Not having run any business, they apparentely haven't figured out that a

Incorrect yet again. The stimulus effect of tax cuts is well
understood. The only thing (highly) questionable is that cuts
facilitate so much growth that tax revenues increase despite of the
cut.
Hell, why don't we just lop, say, 25% off everyone's tax rate, if
goverment tax revenues magically go EVEN HIGHER? Wow, sounds like a
win-win to me! Get 'er done!
They don't call that "voodoo economics" for nothin'...

So let's favor the wealthy elite over the poor, since they are the
"job creaters", huh?

What you hear is irrelevant and is filtered through your right-wing
bias.

>Perhaps you would like to go to

Perhaps you want to drive our country so deep into debt that we will
face a crises of monumental proportions when the boomer generation
retires. God forbid we should be fiscally responsible today, so that
we can meet that OBVIOUSLY expensive challenge when (not if) it comes.

Let me get this right,
1. YOU want to pay more taxes?
OR...
2. You want others to pay more taxes, but not YOU?
Which one?
