Removal of 95 Avalon Antenna

My antenna on my 95 Avalon has broken and I need to get a new one. Can
someone tell me how to remove the OEM antenna? Thanks

If just the mast is broken and the motor still works, you can purchase a
replacement mast at a Toyota dealer and replace just the mast. To replace
just the mast, remove the retaining ring on the fender by turning it
counter-clockwise, then have someone raise he mast while you pull out the
sections. The telescoping sections and a vinyl drive cable should come out.
To install the replacement mast, feed the vinyl drive cable into the opening
and have someone retract the antenna mast. this might take a few tries
until you have the teeth on the cable aligned so that the take-up spool can
grab it and pull in the antenna sections. make sure you have the sections
lined up so hat you don't break the replacement mast.

If you want to replace the entire antenna assembly, remove the retaining
ring on top of the fender and then remove the antenna assembly from the
support bracket in the trunk and unplug the power and antenna leads.
