OT - Interesting law in Maryland

Maryland just passed a law which requires companies with more than 10000
employees in the state either buy health insurance for the employees or
contribute to the medicaid system a certain amount of salaries. Only
Walmart qualifies so it is being called the Walmart law. Pretty easy to get
around by creating separate subsidiaries. We will see what Walmart does.

The really fun part... is that "Toupee" Erlich vetoed the law after the
State Senate passed it, and when they came back in session they
overrode his ass.

I don't shop at Walmart meself. They're horrible. They put American
companies out of business, take advantage of their workers, and
propagate slave labor in Asia.

I was born in Maryland and I love Southern Maryland, but it's too
liberal for me now. I would expect Walmart to reduce it's employment in
Maryland. It's really funny to me there are so many good building sites
around the DC area, yet so few companies willing to invest. I wonder
why.

I live in Maryland. Liberal is an understatement. Need a healty balance
between the two, but the older I get the more conservative I'm getting.

Far from it. Just observing. Take it you don't believe in a balance.

Greed is a defining characteristic of today's Conservative, friend.
See TOM DELAY, HALLIBURTON, BILL FRIST, DICK CHENEY, ROY BLUNT, JACK
ABRAMOFF, BOB ERLICH, MICHAEL OXLEY, BOB NEY, DAVID DUKE, and MANY
others.

I like money too, but I don't believe on stepping on folks and
marginalizing the world to get what I want. I believe in good
old-fashioned hard work along with frugality, social responsibility,
looking out for the children, and loving my brother. Even the
brainwashed masses who vote Republican.

That's what makes me a "non-conservative".

Ditch your youthful idealism, for starters. It is NOT appealing in anyone
older than 25. Then, ditch your rose-coloured glasses, your naiveté and your
political ignorance. THEN, you'll be a conservative.

That's the most sensible thing you have written. Is that really you
Sharx?

Yes, indeedy. We conservatives in Canada may soon be celebrating the defeat
of our current, criminally corrupt LIEbrawl federal government.

Wal-mart will probably cut all their worker's pay, the ones who make
more than minimum wage, and then buy health insurance for them.

It's idiotic.

Congrats bgm, you've just squashed the final milliliter of respect I
had for you.

As for that fucking canuck moron Menhaden... he needs to go back to his
doctor and up his lithium.

I can make a buttload of cash and still be a social liberal. Want to
know how? Easy. Put equality and brotherhood ahead of war and
fascism, and invest wisely at the same time.

Your hatred shows through a frightening amount of the time,
badgolferman. I suggest you hit the Big Book soon.
